Background
I completed my BA (Hons) in Computer Science in University College Dublin in may 2009. Throughout secondary school and college I have worked in various different roles which have provided me with numerous different skills and experiences. Among these roles includes working for a consultant engineering firm as an IT consultant. During my time there I was entrusted with task of designing an office network solution, implementing it and maintaining it. I also advised the digitalisation of all of the office records into a central database management system and trained staff to use it.
Another role which provided me with a great learning experience was with Verve marketing where I began as event staff and progressed to team leader. I had an opportunity to book and coordinate staff for corporate events. During the events themselves I was responsible for ensuring that the event was carried out to the exact specification of the client. I had to manage the staff and event to the high standards of the company and client. I was awarded employee of the month for August 2006.
After my third year in college I was afforded the opportunity to be a professional musician for two years. During this time I lived on the West Coast of Ireland while I wrote an album as part of a six-piece band. I also had the experience of recording the album in Vancouver and New York. These two years brought some of the greatest challenges of my life and with them some of the greatest learning experiences.
My goals now are to develop my skills and establish a challenging career that allows me to be creative and dynamic. I aim to develop expertise in the area of business and social network analysis and I hope to work in an environment synonymous with learning and development.
