Background

I completed my BA (Hons) in Computer Science in University College Dublin in May 2009 and I am now studying for an MSc in Mobile & Ubiquitous Computing at Trinity College Dublin.

Throughout secondary school and college I have worked in various different roles which have provided me with a wide range of different skills and experiences. Among these roles includes experience working for a consultant engineering firm as an IT consultant and support technician. During my time there I was entrusted with responsibly of designing an office network solution, implementing it and maintaining it. I also advised the digitalization of all of the office records into a central database management system and trained staff to use it. I provided application support along with network and DBMS support.

Another role which provided me with a great learning experience was with Verve marketing where I began as an event staff team member and progressed to team leader. I had an opportunity to book and coordinate staff for corporate events. During the events themselves I was responsible for ensuring that the event was carried out to the exact specification of the client. I had to manage the staff and event to the high standards of the company and client. I was awarded employee of the month for August 2006.

After my third year in college I was afforded the opportunity to be a professional musician for two years. During this time I lived on the West Coast of Ireland while I wrote an album as part of a six-piece band. I also had the experience of recording the album in Vancouver and New York. These two years brought some of the greatest challenges of my life and with them some of the greatest learning experiences.

My goals now are to develop my skills and establish a challenging career that allows me to be creative and dynamic. I aim to develop expertise in the area of business or network analysis and I hope to work in an environment synonymous with learning and development.
